Well, we are all here and we are going crazy. Â We have been here since Thursday. Â We have been running around all over Montana finalizing everything. Â Saturday was our team’s check-in, skill checks. Â It was a long day. Â During the water section, Mary got really, really cold so we had to go an extra wetsuit to put over her other one. Â We all did really well. Â It was actually pretty fun!
Sunday at 3:00pm was the race briefing and at the end of that we received our maps. Â All we can say is “HOLY CRIPE” Â This is going to be a long, hard, long, challenging, long, difficult race! Â We are going to be in some really crazy sections. Â The water levels are still really, really high. Â The water is really, really cold.
It is Monday morning and we are all doing OK! Â Our support crew, Denise, Eric, Luke, are great! Â We could not do it without them!! Â We have to get to the starting line in appx. 35 minutes. Â Holy Cripe, 35 minutes. Â We can remember a year ago when we signed up for this!!! Â Oh, yeah, we did sign up for this!!!
Well, have to run now. Â We are heading up to the top of Lone Mountain for the start. Â No kidding, a major climb right from the start! Â Oh, yeah, we have appx. 200 miles of trekking, 200 miles of biking, 10 orienteering, 10 riverboarding, 24 rubber ducky kayak, 71 two person kayaks, and several ropes sections. Â So thank to everyone. Â We love you all!
Mary, Bobby, John and Jason

Go Snell!!!!!! What does big sky look like without snow? Or is there still snow there? Its a lot of fun being there with a snowboard attached to your feet, can’t imagine having to actually hike/bike up the mountains. Be lazy and use the lift! Good Luck team 29! May the force be with you!

Hi Mary (and the rest of the team and support crew) I am thinking of you constantly. I am back to running my usual route in the morning and I will pray for you when I pass the Cathedral.
Remember - you are all awesome - think of what you have already accomplished and keep on going!!

Hi honey (Bobby),
The boys and I are so proud of you!! WE miss you so so much, be careful and have a great time! We are proud of you for your fast thinking and skill in the river today. Keep sharp and stay safe. Take good care of each other.
The Wild cats lost to the Red caps by one point on monday night. We gave them a run for their money and got Coach Eric Romero thrown out of the ball feild! It was an awsome game, you would have been so proud of Cooper playing left feild. He cought three or four balls and got them to second FAST! Hudson has NEVER been dirtier in his life, he looked like he was eating base ball feild dirt all night.
We can’t wait to get to Hanna Montana!
We love you so much,
Rachel, Cooper and Hudson

Booger,
Kyle and I were trying to find where we could leave a message. It’s not easy to find.
We are all thinking of you and your team. Hope your healthy and feeling strong. If your team let’s you down just leave them behind. Remember there is no “we” in Team. You may not win but at least you can beat the three you came with. I’m sure they are very nice people but $@#! them. You are there to win and hold up the Porter name.
Remember to eat your vegtables and clean out the toe jam. I have to go Opra’s on and Stacy has made me a steak.
By the way Kyle says my advice is in bad taste. $@#! him.
Seriously, Be safe and kick %!#.
